My Ashtray recycle project.

This is a person little project that I am currently working one in the background of my coursework. Basically my aim is to make these little novelty commodities out of old soft drinks and beer cans that people can use as ashtrays, candle holders, decorations, bits and bobs bowls and so on. Its easy to make them but it can be time consuming depending on the design, I am constantly trying to develop new designs and hopefully in the near future I will be able to market them online.

Foundation Year - Portfolio of Work.

Obsessions project. This was a long brief where we had to become obsessed by something, it could have been one particular item or many like a collection, it could even have been a concept or programme, literally anything. I choose adhesive tape and i investigated its uses and properties and came up with many unconventional uses for it and crafted lots of variations of art work from different types of tape. Some of these included tape printing (bottom left), tape drawing (top left and see bottom of this post), tape modelling (top right and centre). I even pushed it as far as to make a cushion entirely out of tape, it wasn't vary comfy. Style over function.

Text Signs and Symbols Brief, set over a 3 day weekend I had to investigate and present a piece of work to any scale/format/method of delivery that used one or any combination of Text, Signs and Symbols. I choose to do it on myself and wrote things about me in relevant places on the body which was drawn using stripes of tape.

ID cards and backgrounds for the original 9 Piipil i created.

Idioms brief. My idiom was 'Sticks out like a sore thumb'. I took a more illustrative and conceptual approach to this week long brief and this was the birth of the illustrations that i have since continued to develop that i call 'Piipils'.

3D models I made for my Piipils illustration project.

Pages from my little book of Piipil that i made. It's a short book of original illustrations.

Mark making experiments done with home made tools and brushes. Then applied these marks and techniques to draw a model bird that I made for my summer brief.

Piipil, painted using black and white acrylic applied with a credit card sized piece of plastic.

1 week brief called 'The Big Issue'. These posters are hand made and are tackling the debate between whether street art is art or vandalism.

Parcel tape on to glass with a light box behind.
